Uruguay Lose 79-89 to Colombia
Colombia, Uruguay Clash in the Group Phase of the FIBA Pre-Olympic Tournament
Uruguay fell to Colombia in a close match in the Group Phase of the FIBA Pre-Olympic Tournament on Tuesday night.
Despite a strong start by Uruguay, Colombia took control of the game early in the second quarter and never looked back. Uruguay struggled to keep up with Colombia's quick pace and aggressive defense, and the Colombian team eventually pulled away for the win.
Uruguay will now need to regroup and prepare for their next match against Venezuela on Thursday.
Colombia, meanwhile, will look to continue their winning ways when they face Argentina on Friday.
The FIBA Pre-Olympic Tournament is a qualifying tournament for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, with the winners of the semifinals qualifying for the Olympics.
